She had gone out last night. She had planned to go home early. She had planned to get an early sleep. She didn’t. The night out extended long into the night. She came home late. She had a late sleep. She woke up late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She felt ashamed for letting her friend down. Her friend had done nothing wrong that could justify such a betrayal. She hoped the friend would not get angry. She hoped her error would be forgiven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
