Flash fiction by the Icelandic fiction writer Börkur Sigurbjörnsson. Börkur’s flash fiction pieces (also known as very short stories and micro fiction) are, as the names suggest, very short and simple—from one paragraph to a single page. They are snapshots of a brief moment in the daily life, often revealing a curious character, an interesting situation or a brief funny dialog.
A selection of the flash fiction pieces can be found in the anthology Flash 52. The books are available from online retailers such as Amazon (including Kindle), Apple’s iBooks store, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, and Storytel.
In addition to English, Börkur also writes flash fiction in Spanish and Icelandic. The stories are illustrated by the author himself.
