Urban Volcano

Fiction by Börkur Sigurbjörnsson

I lie on my back with my arms spread. It is partially cloudy but comfortably warm. The sea under me and all around is lukewarm but refreshing. The ocean waves alternate between lifting me up and pulling me down. The time stands still. I empty my mind. My only sensation is how my body oscillates up and down to the rhythm of the waves.
